Good day, In July 2019 I was ‘retired’ by Amec/Wood due to their age policy. Fortunately in October I was taken on by METC as a Platework/Layout Checker & this contract ended in April 2020. During lockdown I have had a few months work doing Platework checking & steelwork detailing , on a freelance basis. I have also used the Trial versions of Inventor & Advance Steel & their linked Tutorials . I am not ready to be put out to Pasture yet and it should be noted that not all over 65’s are ‘past it’ I am a fit & healthy 68 year old, that is capable of learning new software packages & most importantly I have the experience to go with it. My forte is Plant Layout & Design , but I am also available for platework detailing/checking & site supervision , anywhere in Africa. What I enjoyed most during my time at METC was the interaction with the young Draughts-people & the satisfaction that comes with being a Mentor. Regards, Eddy Berridge
