• Over 40 years of mechanical design experience. (15 Years Optomechanics) • Over 25 years of experience using solid modeling CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric. • Over 5 years of experience using analytical tools including PTC Creo Simulate for first-order stress analysis. • I have PTC University certification for Creo Parametric. • Fundamental modeling and analytical understanding of static and dynamic mechanical properties of structures. (e.g. stress, natural frequency, damping, etc.) • I have an in-depth understanding of design dimensioning and tolerance methods (e.g. true-position dimensioning, geometric tolerance, etc.) • Design background in a wide range of applications, including packaging of electronics, mechatronics, optomechanics, mechanical mechanisms. • Understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC milling, turning, spark and wire eroding, welding, sheet metal fabrication, • The above experience enables me to effectively design and manage complete projects from concept to completion. This includes all facets of engineering from liaising with a customer to sketching out concept ideas, 3D Parametric Modeling, fully tolerance drawings to ISO standards, Bill Of Material (BOM’s)
